Kwanzaa is a 7-day celebration that honors community, family and heritage of African American culture and African traditions. Kwanzaa comes from the Swahili word that means “first harvest” and is based on the principles of Nguzo Saba (the Seven Principles). Ohio History Connection and TAWI Family Village will present two days of Kwanzaa that will feature African drumming, music, dance, storytelling and hands on art activities. The events at the museum will be part of events that are taking place throughout the community.

Saturday, December 30, 2023 • 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

Note: Kwanzaa activities will run from 4–8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Saturday, however your ticket is valid for admission all day during regular museum hours from 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
