Donation Information

The Ohio Village Muffins/Diamonds are Ohio History Connection volunteers who love the game of baseball. They carry on the tradition of the sport as it was played in mid-nineteenth-century America by playing by 1860s rules, dressing in period uniforms, and exemplifying the gentlemanly behavior of the time. The women teams reflect a progressive shift in the idea of what was ladylike. Games are played against other vintage teams from Ohio and across the country, as well as teams of local community members. Each season the Muffins play over 40 matches and travel all over Ohio and out-of-state to share the history of 1860s baseball. In addition to the men’s team, the Ohio Village also hosts a women’s team, the Diamonds.
