Learn about the Big and Little Darby Creek State and National Scenic River from ODNR’s Ohio Scenic Rivers Program staff. Learn firsthand about Big Darby Creek and its excellent water quality and aquatic habitat. We’ll begin with a short walk to the river and learn how streamside forests influence aquatic habitat and stream health.  Then wade into Big Darby Creek to use nets to collect macroinvertebrates (aquatic bugs like crayfish and insects). You’ll learn how to identify these tiny creatures and recognize their connection to water quality.  Event will also explore volunteer opportunities with ODNR’s Division of Natural Areas and Preserves.
