Connecting Cultures: Masks, Identity and Community

Participants will explore the work of Ohio African-American artists Bing Davis and Queen Brooks while learning about three distinct African cultures and completing a mask activity. This program is recommended for children 5 years and older and their families.

Participants will:

• Learn about three different African cultures and locate them on a map.

• Understand how artists Bing Davis and Queen Brooks are influenced by their African heritage and American identities.

• Learn how to express their own identity through art.
