Learning Lab: Discovering Ohio Architecture

Discover the richness and diversity of Ohio’s architecture. This two-session class will discuss broad architectural trends and characteristics of specific styles examined within the context of 18th, 19th, and 20th century Ohio.

Participants will learn architectural terminology and how to identify architectural styles. A bibliography of architectural references will be provided.

Class topics include Ohio Statehood and Early Settlement, 1788-1850; Impact of Industrialization, Ohio’s Urban Growth and Suburbanization, 1850-1900; Ohio’s Age of Industry, 1900-1940; and Modern Ohio, 1940-1970.

Class date is Saturday, January 26th.  

Registration closes Saturday, January 23th, 2019.
